The United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas
Statement following General Conference 2019
Greetings to the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas family.
Following the 2019 General Conference in St. Louis, please know that the actions of General Conference have not altered the UMFA’s mission to “create and administer permanent charitable endowment funds to strengthen and expand United Methodist ministry in Arkansas.” We continue to foster stewardship and generosity to further God’s work, and no actions taken at the General Conference will affect our ability or commitment to serve you and the church.
The Foundation’s Board and Staff will continue to fulfill our fiduciary duty to faithfully manage funds placed in our care by you individually or by your church, just as we have for the past 56 years. As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we continue to serve as good stewards of the gifts entrusted to us, and we continue to operate with the highest ethical and accounting standards. Your investments, ably managed by Wespath, are secure and continue to perform well.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors will continue to monitor events as they unfold and we commit to proactively make any adjustments necessary to maintain our independence and to meet our fiduciary obligations to you, our other clients, and accounts.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Rev. J. Wayne Clark, President and CEO, at 501-664-8632 or email@example.com.
Grace and Peace,
The Honorable Beth Deere, Board Chair and Rev. J. Wayne Clark, President & CEO
